Note: Balloon Festival activities will be held in Chippewassee Park. Due to M-20 bridge construction, the park can only be accessed by crossing the Tridge from the farmers market area. Shuttle service will be available from the downtown Midland parking garage to the farmers market/Tridge on Friday, August 2nd from 5pm - 10pm and Saturday, August 3rd from 12pm - 10:30pm. Thursday, August 1st (6:30pm—10:00pm)

6:30 - 8:00pm     Downtown Main Street Glow
Balloon pilots overtake Main Street! Come to Downtown Midland, meet all of the pilots, and watch as their burners light up the sky. The card scavenger hunt is back again - collect cards from each pilot and turn them in for a free Midland Balloon Festival/Riverdays souvenir pin (limited to the first 500).

7:00-10:00pm     Silent Dance Party – the first in a series of events designed for teens & young adults brought to you by the Midland County Youth Action Council
Come to the big tent near the Farmers Market for one of the most unique dance parties you’ll ever attend!  Wear headphones playing your choice of three different playlists featuring a DJ spinning your choice of today’s best dance music, country, or “decades of dance”.

Bring your own Pool Noodle Light Saber and join in the fun as the Bay Area Fencing Association teaches all Midland’s Padawans how to use this elegant weapon from a more civilized age. Class takes place over the Tridge in Chippewassee Park; battling the bad guy afterwards takes place in the KidsZone at the BAFA table.

The Midland County Youth Action Council hosts Modern Skate and Surf professional skaters at the Trilogy Skate Park across the Tridge at Chippewassee Park. Come see them perform from 1-2pm. Grab your safety gear and get some pointers from 2-3pm.

The Midland County Youth Action Council welcomes young Michigan musicians for acoustic performances.  Bring your lawn chairs to the Farmer’s Market and enjoy these laid-back concerts featuring the lovely harmonies of the Keynote Sisters (2-3pm) and the pop-country stylings of American Idol Contestant Macy Krew (3-4pm).

The Midland County Youth Action Council welcomes you to chill out and charge up with plenty of comfy outdoor seating and outlets to charge your devices.  Meet members of the MCYAC and see how your Middle and High School students can get involved in real philanthropy in our community!
